Which NRSWA course do you need?

If you are responsible for carrying out signing, lighting and guarding activities on site, the NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding Operatives course provides the training you need.
The course covers the practical requirements for setting up and maintaining appropriate signing, lighting and guarding arrangements around streetworks.
It is particularly relevant to operatives who are working directly on site.
Signing, Lighting and Guarding – Supervisors
Supervisors have different responsibilities from operatives, which is why there is a separate NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding Supervisors course.
This course is aimed at people responsible for supervising signing, lighting and guarding activities and ensuring that the work is carried out correctly.
If you’re responsible for overseeing streetworks rather than carrying out the work yourself, this is likely to be the more appropriate qualification.
Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
Before excavation begins, it’s essential to understand what could be beneath the ground.
The NRSWA Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus course focuses on identifying and avoiding underground services, helping delegates understand the risks associated with excavation and the importance of using the correct equipment and procedures.
For anyone involved in excavation or working around buried services, this is an important area of competence.
What if your NRSWA qualification is due to expire?
NRSWA qualifications don’t last forever.
If your qualification is approaching its expiry date, you’ll need to complete the appropriate reassessment course to maintain your qualification.
Planning ahead is important. Leaving reassessment until the last minute could mean your qualification expires before you have completed the necessary training.
