Delegates will cover both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work safely at height:

Harness and Fall Protection

• Correct fitting, adjustment, and inspection of full-body harnesses
• Safe use of anchor systems, lanyards, and fall arrest devices
• Identifying faulty or damaged equipment

Legal and Safety Requirements

• Understanding duties under PUWER, LOLER, and WAHR
• Planning for working at height activities
• Conducting working at height risk assessments
• Determining measures to reduce fall risks

Equipment Use and Safety Measures

• Selection of appropriate safety harness and fall protection for the task
• Use of fall restraint and fall arrest systems
• Safe use of access equipment, ladders, and other work-at-height apparatus
• Collective and personal protection methods

Rescue and Emergency Preparedness

• Basic rescue techniques and PPE recovery methods
• Responding effectively to height-related incidents
• Safe evacuation from elevated positions

Practical Exercises and Assessment

• Hands-on fitting, adjustment, and inspection of harnesses
• Simulated working at height tasks using fall protection equipment
• Application of safety procedures in real-world scenarios
• Written and practical assessment to confirm competence
