Assessment

Assessment will consist of a combination of methods to validate knowledge and competency, including: Oral questioning Multiple-choice examinations Written assessments Practical (on-site) evaluation Delegates must also be required to physically dog a small excavation. All assessments must be passed to achieve certification in the EUSR Category 1 – Locate Utility Services (HSG47) qualification.

  • Overview of CAT & Genny tools for detection
  • Avoiding utility strikes and incident prevention

Safe Excavation Practices

  • Safe digging techniques for hand and power tools
  • Maintaining holes, trenches, and excavations safely
  • Recognising and controlling hazards associated with excavations
  • Safe systems of work and compliance with current legislation

Practical Application & Assessment

  • Hands-on exercises to apply safe digging techniques
