This one-day EUSR Approved Earthing, Brazing and Exothermic Welding course provides delegates with the theoretical knowledge and technical awareness required to understand earthing systems, earth bonding, brazing and exothermic welding.
The course covers the basic principles of earthing, different types of earthing systems used in the UK, earth electrode installation, earth tape installation and the principles of brazing and exothermic welding. It also includes an overview of National Grid NSI 24 requirements.
The course is suitable for delegates at all levels and provides a useful foundation for those who need to understand the principles and procedures associated with earthing and associated connection methods.

This course is suitable for anyone who requires an understanding of earthing, brazing and exothermic welding within the utilities and electrical sectors.
No previous experience is required. However, an electrical background and experience as a National Grid Electrical Competent Person (NGET CP) would be advantageous.
There are no formal previous experience requirements for this course.

National Grid NSI 24
The course includes an overview of National Grid NSI 24 and covers the principles relating to approved Temporary Earth Bonds and Earth Bonds to the Main Earth System.
Delegates will be provided with relevant course information and a copy of NSI 24 for reference during the course.
Assessment
Delegates complete a written assessment at the end of the course.
Successful completion demonstrates that the delegate has achieved the required level of theoretical knowledge covered by the course and can apply the principles and good practice discussed during training.
Please note: This is a theory course. Practical equipment may be demonstrated during the course, but the course does not constitute practical training in brazing or exothermic welding.
