*Please note, we are a 3rd party booker for this course which is delivered by National Grid Electricity Transmission*
The National Grid Competent Person (CPB) – LAC & PFW NonApplication of Drain Earths course is designed for personnel who require Limited Access Certificate (LAC) and Permit for Work (PFW) authority near overhead line (OHL) networks, without performing electrical tasks such as applying drain earths.
This course is particularly suited to forestry, fencing, vegetation management, and other land-based work where safe proximity to high-voltage conductors is required, but direct interaction with conductors is not permitted. Delegates will gain the knowledge and authorisation to work safely under CPB rules while complying with National Grid Safety Rules and relevant NSI standards.
The National Grid Authorisation Training can only be booked either directly with NG or through the live NG Booking Portal via an approved provider, such as ourselves.
To Book this training please contact us on 01926 674340 or email Training@Pragmatic-consulting.co.uk
This course is typically delivered for groups of four or more delegates.
If you have fewer than four learners, please contact us — in many cases we can coordinate availability with other contractors to arrange a suitable training date.

Useful documentation includes:
Authorisation Scope: This course does not authorise delegates to perform electrical tasks such as applying drain earths or working on conductors. For that, CPC or higher-level CP courses are required.
Safety Emphasis: Delegates are trained to comply fully with National Grid Safety Rules and NSI documentation (NSI 2, NSI 4, NSI 6, NSI 8). Safe working distances and risk mitigation are critical for preventing high-voltage incidents.
