This Signing, Lighting & Guarding (SLG) Reassessment course focusses on:

Unit O1 – Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Operatives)

Refresher training focuses on the practical and safety-critical requirements of installing temporary traffic management systems, including:

• Principles of safe street works under NRSWA
• Correct selection and placement of traffic signs, cones, barriers, and lamps
• Use of stop/go boards and portable traffic signal equipment
• Establishing safe working zones and pedestrian routes
• Identifying site-specific hazards and applying appropriate control measures

Unit S1 – Monitoring Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Supervisors)

This refresher session reinforces supervisory responsibilities related to SLG activities, covering:

• Monitoring operatives erecting and dismantling SLG equipment
• Ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice and NRSWA standards
• Risk assessment and hazard identification
• Verifying traffic management layouts are safe, suitable, and correctly maintained
• Providing guidance and corrective instruction to operatives
