Course Content

This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to act quickly, safely, and effectively in workplace emergencies. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to deliver immediate first aid care and support until professional medical help arrives.

Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
Assessing an incident and identifying immediate risks
Managing an unresponsive casualty, including recovery position
CPR and AED use
Basic first aid hygiene and infection control
Control of bleeding and treatment of wounds
Burns and scalds
Choking (adult)
Shock
Epilepsy and seizures
Minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, and bruising
Basic anatomy awareness relevant to first aid

Assessment Learners are assessed throughout the day through continuous practical observation by the instructor, supported by a short written assessment to confirm understanding.
