When was BS 7671 Amendment 4 published?

BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 was published on 15 April 2026.

Is there a transition period?

Yes. The previous version (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022, with Amendment 3:2024) is withdrawn on 15 October 2026. After that, Amendment 4 is the only current version, and City & Guilds exams are 2382-26 only.

Is Amendment 4 a new edition?

No. It is an amendment to the 18th Edition. There is no 19th Edition yet.

Do I need new training for Amendment 4?

If you already hold a 2382-18 or 2382-22 qualification, there is no legal requirement to retake it. However, many employers and competent person schemes expect you to be up to date. Our 1-day update course or exam-only option is a quick way to do this as part of your continuing professional development.
