The EUSR SHEA Core course provides essential health, safety, and environmental awareness training for anyone working across the UK utilities sector. Delivered over one day, this cross-industry programme establishes the foundation of safe working practices required for access to operational sites in water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and waste environments.
Recognised by the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR), SHEA Core is designed to ensure workers understand their responsibilities, can identify hazards, and follow safe systems of work regardless of their utility discipline. Completion of the course awards the SHEA Core Safety Passport, widely accepted for contractor and employee site access throughout the utilities industry.

The EUSR SHEA Core Course is designed for all individuals who require safe and authorised access to operational utility sites—whether permanent or temporary. It is suitable for all levels, including:
Contractors and subcontractors working under utility frameworks who must hold a valid safety passport recognised by the utilities sector
The EUSR SHEA Core Course consists of six mandatory modules, focusing on universal safety principles that apply across all utilities. Learning is delivered through interactive presentations, discussions, and practical examples relevant to multi-utility work environments.

Training is delivered within the general context of the utilities industries, ensuring relevance regardless of sector.
From 1 October 2026, EUSR SHEA registrations will no longer automatically include the CSCS element. If you need a CSCS card to access construction sites, you will need to apply separately for the appropriate EUSR CSCS card for your job role.
You can add your CSCS card application when booking your SHEA course with Pragmatic. Simply select the appropriate card via the basket option.
