One day
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course Online will be taught remotely via Zoom video conferencing. This online course follows the same structure as the classroom course, the only difference is that you will be taking classes remotely.
It is mandatory that you attend the full day of this course.
You will need access to a laptop or PC computer with a webcam, microphone, and speaker; please check your hardware prior to booking your course.
Course publications will be provided electronically prior to the course commencing.
Photographic ID is required at course commencement (Passport, Photo card Driving License or CSCS photo Card).
At the end of this virtual course delegates are required to sit an exam consisting of 25 questions. The exam will be delivered via Microsoft Forms (no special software is required). These will be completed in groups of 6 candidates per exam sitting.
This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

On successful completion of the course the delegates are awarded the Construction Industry Training Board (Site Safety Plus) Certificate in PDF format. This will be sent electronically to the course booker.
This course is a prerequisite to obtaining the CSCS Green Labourers Card.

Assessment will be by an end of course examination which is 30 minutes. The question paper consists of 25 multiple-choice questions: 20 questions are worth one mark each and 5 questions are worth two marks each. The delegates must obtain 25 marks out of 30 (83%) or more to pass the examination. This exam must be taken at the end of the course
Delegates must be competent in English at operative level. The course content is suited to all ability levels.
