Whether you’re booking one supervisor onto an SSSTS or a whole site team onto SMSTS, you can see exactly what each CITB course costs before you enquire. All prices below are per delegate and exclude VAT.
Every course is CITB-accredited and delivered by trainers with real site experience. Most are live and online through Zoom, with some classroom dates at our centres in Warwickshire, Manchester and South Wales. Each price includes the course, CITB assessment and your CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
Booking a group of 6 or more? We can deliver any of these courses at your site, often at a lower cost per person.

No hidden costs – CITB publications, course materials and registration costs are all included in listed prices.
Funding and group bookings
Could CITB funding reduce the cost?
Possibly. CITB has replaced most short course grants with funding through its regional Employer Networks. If your company is CITB registered, up to date with the levy and has fewer than 250 employees, your local Employer Network may fund part of the cost of these courses through match funding or a fixed contribution.
As a member of the CITB Training Provider Network, we can deliver Employer Network-funded training. Once your funding is agreed, we invoice you only for your share and CITB pays the rest.
Funding is capped each year (£1,500 for micro, £2,000 for small and £4,500 for medium-sized employers in 2026-27) and regional budgets can run out, so it pays to plan early. Larger employers with 250 or more staff can apply to CITB’s separate Large Employer Fund.

How much does an SMSTS course cost?
Our 5-day online SMSTS course costs £427 + VAT per delegate. The 2-day SMSTS Refresher is £325 + VAT, and the SMSTS Day Release course is £527 + VAT.
How much does an SSSTS course cost?
The 2-day SSSTS course costs £267 + VAT per delegate, and the 1-day SSSTS Refresher is £170 + VAT.
Do your prices include VAT?
No. All prices are shown excluding VAT, which is added at 20%. For example, SMSTS is £512.40 including VAT.
What's included in the price?
The training, the CITB assessment and your CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
Is online training the same as classroom training?
Yes. Our live online courses are delivered by a trainer in real time over Zoom, and you receive the same CITB certificate as in the classroom.
Do you offer group or on-site prices?
Yes. For groups of 6 or more, we can deliver at your site or as a private online course. Contact us for a quote.
Can I get CITB funding towards the cost?
If your company is CITB registered and up to date with the levy, you may be able to get funding through your regional CITB Employer Network. Most short course grants have now ended, so funding for courses like SMSTS and SSSTS is arranged through the network rather than claimed afterwards. Ask your Employer Network adviser, or speak to us and we’ll help.
How does CITB Employer Network funding work?
Contact your local Employer Network adviser and tell them which course you need and that you’d like to train with Pragmatic Consulting. Once the funding is agreed, book with us and we’ll invoice you for your share of the cost. CITB pays the rest directly. Read more in our guide to Employer Networks.
My company has 250 or more employees. Can we still get CITB funding?
Large employers can no longer use Employer Networks, but CITB has a separate Large Employer Fund for in-scope training. Read our guide to the Large Employer Fund or ask our team.
When do I need a refresher instead of the full course?
SMSTS and SSSTS certificates are valid for 5 years. Book the refresher before your certificate expires. If it has already expired, you’ll need to take the full course again.
