Course Overview
This Asbestos Awareness training provides delegates with an awareness of the dangers and risks posed by asbestos, should they unknowing become exposed to asbestos containing materials, through the disturbance of the fabric of a building.
Course Content:

Explain the brief history of asbestos and its’ uses

Explain the different types of asbestos

Explain asbestos properties and risks

Explain the different effects of asbestos on workers’ health

Explain the types, uses and risks of ACMs in buildings
-
Explain the procedures when dealing with accidental exposure to asbestos
-
Describe how to avoid the risks of ACM’s in buildings

Explain employer and employee responsibilities under Health and Safety Legislation
Assessment
A variety of activities, oral, multiple choice and written questions plus onsite assessment.
Certificates
Once the delegate has successfully completed the course and assessment, the results will be submitted to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 3 years from the date of training. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the assessment before the expiry date on your card.
