Who is this qualification designed for?
For all individuals who will be required to carry out duties on or near operational plant and equipment in distribution or private electricity environments. This is also a prerequisite for anyone working on UKPN substations.
Please note, this course is not the National Grid Person Substations. Most people enquiring about BESC are looking for the National Grid PERSON Substations (used to be called NG Person and BESC AME Subs).

Course Content
The BESC AME Substations is an assessment only, however we at Pragmatic Consulting have designed a training course to support the knowledge and awareness candidates will need to undertake the assessment. The course is also designed to ensure that the candidate is familiar with all the relevant safety documentation.
Duration
This is scheduled as a one-day course however, duration depends on the individual delegates.
Assessment
Multiple choice and written questions plus onsite assessment.
Certificates
Once the delegate has successfully completed the course and assessment, the results will be submitted to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 3 years from the date of training. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the assessment before the expiry date on your card.
Pre-Requisites:
There are no formal entry requirements however a basic level of written and spoken English is required.
