NRSWA Operative and Supervisor Courses

Our NRSWA training courses cover essential units, including:​

• Unit LA – Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
• Unit O1/S1 – Signing, lighting, and guarding
• Unit 2 – Excavation in the highway
• Unit 10 – Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials​
• Units LA, O1-O5 & O8 - Full 5 day Operatives course
• Units LA, S1-S5 & S7 - Full 5 day Supervisors course

Upon successful completion, delegates receive a NRSWA card (also known as a Street Works Qualification Register card), which serves as proof of their qualification to perform street works legally and safely. The card indicates the specific units completed and is valid for five years.​

NRSWA Red Book – Safety at Street Works

Training includes guidance on the NRSWA Red Book, officially titled "Safety at Street Works and Road Works – A Code of Practice." This code outlines best practices for setting up signing, lighting, and guarding on roadworks, ensuring safety for both workers and the public. Familiarity with the Red Book is essential for compliance and is a key component of our training programs.
