The CITB Site Environmental Awareness Scheme (SEATS) course will help you understand how environmental management issues on site and best practice techniques and legal compliance.
Who will the course benefit?
The SEATS course is aimed at staff with managerial or supervisory responsibilities on a construction site, including site managers, site supervisors, site foreman, site agents and those with design or purchasing responsibilities.
Site managers and supervisors working in the construction, building and civil engineering industries will benefit immensely from this CITB SEATS environmental training. You will learn all the relevant information and legislation that affects the environment in your industry.
Skills gained
You gain a highly recognised qualification, which is valid for five years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake a course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.

Course details
CITB SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) is a one-day course that focuses on construction sites environmental issues. The course is designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that contractors and individuals need to prove to major contractors and clients.
This course covers the environmental aspects of the new HS&E touch screen test and will bring the candidates environmental and sustainability knowledge up to date by giving a thorough overview of the subject, relevant legislation, and industry best practice.
With this environmental awareness training knowledge, you will be able to identify, control and reduce your work’s environmental impact and protect the eco-system. Overall, you will be able to work in a sustainable and environmental conscious manner.

This training is endorsed by BuildUK and enables you to understand your responsibility when it comes to the environmental impacts of construction.
Entry requirements
Delegates must be competent in English at operative level. The course content is suited to all ability levels.
Assessment
Assessment will be by an end of course examination which is 30 minutes. The question paper consists of 25 questions: 22 questions multiple choice questions and 3 multiple response questions. The delegates must obtain 24 marks out of 30 (80%) or more to pass the examination. This exam must be taken at the end of the course.
