The NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Operatives) Course (Unit O1) provides operatives with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management systems in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991.
This one-day programme focuses on ensuring the safety of road users, pedestrians, and the workforce by teaching delegates how to set out compliant signing, lighting, and guarding on public highways. The course combines classroom learning with practical, hands-on training delivered on a live road, giving operatives real-world experience in managing traffic flow and establishing safe work zones.
On completion, delegates will be equipped to implement a range of traffic control measures confidently and in full compliance with the Code of Practice for Safety at Street Works and Road Works.
