Course Overview
The importance of food safety in catering is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.
This level 2 Food Safety in Catering qualification is an excellent introduction to food safety and will benefit all employees at all levels, particularly those who old, or are about to hold, a food safety role within their organisation.
It is very important for businesses and their staff to understand what good food safety is.
Course content:
This course provides an ideal approach to safer practices of food safety.
A range of subjects are covered that will equip delegates to:
- How individuals can take responsibility for food safety
- The importance of keeping him/herself clean and hygienic
- The importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic
- The importance of keeping food safe
Assessment
Continuous practical assessment is carried out by the instructor throughout the day, including a written assessment.
Certificates
A certificate and card will be issued subject to successful assessment. This is a lifetime qualification, although refresher training of a three yearly period is always recommended.
Pre-Requisites
Must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
