This NG NSI2 – Application of Drain Earths course is designed for individuals who require a practical understanding of applying drain earths in accordance with National Grid’s NSI2 Safety Rules. It supports safe working practices on high-voltage electrical systems and is a key requirement for many Competent Persons (CP) operating on National Grid sites.

Course Content

• Principles and purpose of NSI2 (National Safety Instruction 2)

Prerequisites

In order to be eligible for National Grid NSI2 Limited inc Practical Application of Drain Earths, you will need to hold

• NG Competent Person Substation status
• Evidence of two occasions in the application and removal of Drain Earth(s) under Personal Supervision of an NSI 2 authorised Competent Person within last 12 months OR NSI 2 Practical Course delivered by the Academy. 

If you have previously held NSI 2 Limited within the last 2 years, then you can book the NSI2 Limited Renewal.

• The NG NSI2 Limited inc Practical Application of Drain Earths course is available exclusively at National Grid approved site at Eakring in Nottinghamshire. 
• Minimum of 4 delegates required for a course to run (max of 6).

Please note: This course is typically delivered on a group booking basis rather than as an open scheduled session. A minimum of four delegates is usually required to arrange a dedicated course. If you have fewer than four participants, we encourage you to get in touch — we may be able to coordinate with other contractors to form a viable group.
