Ensure your NG Person Overhead Lines renewal is up to date with our fully online course. Designed for existing National Grid-certified operatives, this Online OHL renewal training can be completed anytime, anywhere in the UK. Stay compliant, extend your certification, and avoid project delays.

This renewal ensures that all participants are up to date with the latest National Grid safety protocols, personal responsibilities, and environmental considerations when operating around high-voltage overhead lines.

Who Should Book?

• NG Person Overhead Lines cardholders
• Overhead lines operatives due for requalification
• Managers and supervisors overseeing OHL work

Ideal for those whose current NG Person certification is nearing expiry, this course provides a streamlined, online method to refresh key safety knowledge and remain compliant with National Grid standards.

To be eligible for the NG Person OHL online renewal, each delegate must have a valid, in date NG Person OHL.  With the online renewal, delegates have up to 28 days to complete the course, however this must be completed before the existing NG Person Substation authorisation expires.

If you do not hold an 1-day NG Person authorisation you cannot attend the NG Person OHL Online Renewal.

If you dont have this in date please see NG Person OHL.  The cost of the online renewal is £550 + VAT per delegate.

• Individuals already certified as an NG Person for Overhead Lines
• Substation and field engineers working near OHL environments
• Contractors and third-party operatives accessing National Grid-controlled areas
• Employees requiring refresher training for continued access under National Grid Safety Rules

Course Schedule

Available 24/7, however this does require some input from our admin team who work Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, delegates will:

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course and assessment will receive an updated NG Person Certificate (Overhead Lines), valid for 3 years. A digital copy will be issued immediately upon completion.
