Course Overview
This course is broken down and designed for candidates based on experience levels.
Those candidates possessing little to no experience of welding Polyethylene Pipe by the means of Electro Fusion welding processes should select the 2-day course.
Experienced Electro Fusion Welders seeking certification, or a refresher qualification should select the 1-day course.
Electrofusion welding of Polyethylene (PE) pipes for utility network systems. Developed to give UK Utility Infrastructure Providers employees competence training.
Techniques are applicable for both types of materials, which are PE80 (MDPE) and PE100 (HDPE or HPPE).
This training course has been mapped to CABWI MUN10 (NCO water) and City and Guilds 6028-210 (NCO Gas) as well as BS ISO 12176-2:2008+A1:2021
Course content:

Understand the principles of Polyethylene (PE) Jointing (Electrofusion Welding)

Identify pipe and fittings and understand markings

Carry out Risk Assessments

Carry out pre-jointing checks

Make satisfactory joints

Inspect for and identify acceptable quality joints

Understand Traceability options
Assessment
A variety of activities, oral, multiple choice, and written questions plus onsite assessment.
Certificates
Once the delegate has successfully completed the course and assessment, the results will be submitted to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 3 years from the date of training. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the assessment before the expiry date on your card.
