NRSWA Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus (LA) Reassessment

Course details

This reassessment course is designed for operatives and supervisors seeking to renew their NRSWA accreditation for Unit LA – Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus. It refreshes essential skills in safely locating buried services using cable avoidance tools (CAT and Genny) in preparation for excavation work. 

Includes written assessment, materials, and certificate/card registration. A practical reassessment is not required for this course.

Course Overview

Our SLG Reassessment Course provides a comprehensive review of key competencies required for LA – Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus in street works. The course includes refresher training followed by assessments to evaluate the candidate's knowledge and skills.​

Course Content

The course covers the following units:​

• Unit LA – Location & Avoidance of Underground Apparatus

Each unit includes a short refresher session followed by a touchscreen test. A minimum pass mark of 80% is required for each unit.

Assessment

The Reassessment consists of theory based Assessment.

Certificates

Upon successful completion, results are submitted to the awarding body. Delegates will receive a certificate and a renewed Street Works Qualification Register (SWQR) card, valid for five years.

• Theory exam: 20 multiple-choice questions, pass mark 80%
• Successful delegates are logged onto the Street Works Qualifications Register
• Issued with Unit LA reassessment certificate
