Overview:
This two-day course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote Health & Safety to supervise effectively.
This course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group UKCG as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites and, as such, the course must be delivered as laid out in the following programme.
This course is an ideal foundation for obtaining a basic understanding of Health & Safety duties and responsibilities for junior management, and upon successful completion of this course, a natural progression would be the 5-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course. Existing Site Managers, Agents, Surveyors, and persons holding positions of managerial control should attend the 5-day SMSTS course.

On successful completion of the course the delegates will be awarded the Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate as an electronic PDF.
Programme content:
CITB SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) is a two-day course for site supervisors. If you are a site manager, you may want to consider the CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) instead.
Each delegate will receive the CITB Mandatory Publications (eBooks for virtual courses and hardcopy for face-to-face courses)
This training is endorsed by BuildUK.
You gain a highly recognised qualification, which is valid for five years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake a course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.

Assessment
You will prepare and deliver a toolbox talk to other course delegates and complete a 25-question examination which has 22 multiple choice questions and three short written questions and answers. There are four safety critical questions at the beginning of each paper that must be answered correctly.
Delegates are permitted to use the Construction site supervision (GE706) publication for the last ten minutes of the examination period.
This exam paper must be taken at the end of the course.
