Course details

Our EUSR‑endorsed training program teaches safe and compliant operation of trailer-mounted cable winch systems and 3 t capstan winches, essential equipment for pulling cables into ducts and conduits on utility and telecom sites. This course combines practical field exercises with regulatory guidance, ensuring operatives meet EUSR competency standards and gain endorsement for use of both types of winch systems.

This is a 1-day course 8am to 5pm and is for a maximum of 6 delegates.

• Safe set-up, operation & towing of the winch trailer
• Use and control of the 3 t capstan winch for cable installation

• Equipment inspection and routine maintenance best practice

Assessment & Certification

Participants will complete a multiple-choice assessment. Successful candidates will be registered on the EUSR and awarded EUSR Endorsed Cable Winch card valid for 3 years. 

To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the Endorsed Cable Winch course before the expiry date on your card.
