This 1‑day City & Guilds update course is designed for qualified electricians and other electrical professionals who already hold an earlier 18th Edition (2382‑18 or 2382‑22) qualification and need to update their knowledge ahead of the upcoming BS 7671:2018 + Amendment 4 (2026) changes to the UK Wiring Regulations.
The course focuses on the key changes introduced by Amendment 4, giving you a concise but thorough overview of what’s new, what’s changed, and how these updates affect design, installation, inspection, testing, and compliance in real‑world electrical work as published on 15 April 2026.
At the end of the course, you’ll sit the City & Guilds 2382-26 online exam, which assesses your understanding of the full 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, updated to include Amendment 4.

Q. When is BS 7671 Amendment 4 being released?
A. It will be published on 15 April 2026.
Q. Does the examination only include questions on the changes within the Amendment of BS 7671?
A. No. The examination questions asked will from the entirety of the content of the publication as the examination is intended to ensure that all candidates, whether undertaking a short or long-term training program, are conversant with BS 7671 as a whole.
Q. Will the training course include navigation guidance and pre-existing requirements from BS 7671?
A. Although the training may deviate into some of the 'older,' established regulations that the industry will be familiar with for context purposes within course discussions, this will be limited and focused mainly on the changes brought within Amendment 4 as it is expected that candidates undertaking the Update course will already have familiarity with the content and navigation of BS 7671.
Q. How long is the transition period?
A. Six months the current version will be withdrawn after this period.
Q. Is Amendment 4 a full new edition?
A. No. It is an amendment to the 18th Edition; there is not a19th Edition.
Q. Do I need new training for Amendment 4?
A. If you already hold the 18th Edition qualification, we highly recommend our update course or exam only as a part of your Continued Professional Development.
Q. What are the biggest changes in Amendment 4?
A. New battery installation rules, Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements, In-Circuit Testing (ICT) earthing, and a major update to medical locations.
