NUCO - Emergency Paediatric First Aid - FAA Level 3 (1 Day Accredited)
This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those with a responsibility for the care of children and babies and provides knowledge and skills to deal with a range of paediatric first aid conditions and incidents.
If you have a professional interest, i.e., you are a child-minder or schoolteacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6-hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.
Throughout the duration of this course, the delegates will cover.
Role of the Paediatric First Aider
Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
Wounds, bleeding, and shock
The qualification is assessed both through practical demonstration and oral questioning.
A learner must successfully pass a practical assessment to achieve the qualification.
There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.
A three-year Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
Delegates must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
