Course details

This one-day course is designed for individuals seeking National Grid Person authorisation for substations. It covers essential safety knowledge, including the dangers of impressed voltage, and practical assessments to ensure compliance with National Grid standards

The National Grid Person Substations course is available exclusively at Eakring in Nottinghamshire. 

Course Content

• E-learning modules on substation safety
• Assessment on impressed voltage hazards
• Practical health and safety substation assessment
• Understanding of National Safety Instruction (NSI) 30
• Requirements for EUSR registration

Who Should Attend

• Contractor employees working on National Grid sites
• Individuals requiring substation access authorisation
• Personnel involved in substation operations and maintenance

Prerequisites

To be eligible for the National Grid Person Substations course, you must hold one of the following Health & Safety Authorisations:

• EUSR SHEA
• CITB HSA
• Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (EFAW)
• IOSH
• NEBOSH
• CSCS card
• ECS card
• CISRS card
• ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport
• Or an equivalent certification

Course Details

• Duration: 1 Day
• Time: 08:15 am - 4:00 pm
• Days Available: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (Some Saturdays)
• Location: Kirklington Rd, Eakring, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG22 0DA

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive National Grid Person authorisation, valid for 3 years, and be registered on the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR).
