Water hygiene training protects the safety of the water supply through best practice. It therefore plays a key role in public health protection and drinking water safety.
Every water company in the UK needs people who enter clean-water sites or work on the clean-water network (also called ‘Restricted Operations’) to hold a National Water Hygiene registration through the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR). Locations which come under ‘Restricted Operations’ include:
The need for this training isn’t limited to those working for water companies. It extends to sub-contractors and others, such as Self-Lay Organisations (SLOs).
What’s more, because the National Water Hygiene scheme has been developed with water companies and other main stakeholders sector-wide, it gives confidence that you will have the knowledge and understanding you need to employ strong water hygiene practices.
Typically there are four modules in National Water Hygiene scheme training, encompassing:
Anyone who successfully completed the National Water Hygiene training and assessment traditionally received a National Water Hygiene EUSR photo ID card – known informally as the ‘Blue Card’ because of its colour. However, new and renewed registrations now receive a virtual card rather than a physical one. You can easily access your card via a mobile device and equally, this means you can’t lose them.
At Pragmatic Consulting, we’re leading providers of training across the utility and construction sectors, providing a wide range of relevant, high-quality courses.
We offer half-day EUSR National Water Hygiene sessions leading to blue card qualification, which you can follow via Zoom or at our Stoneleigh Training Centre in Warwickshire. It’s aimed at anyone involved in the potable water sector who will need to access either permanent or temporary sites, at all levels, from operatives and supervisors through to managers.
At the same time, this half-day training can also be delivered exclusively online, and we can process your booking on the next working day. If that style of training suits you best. Assessment is via multi-choice questions, whichever format you choose.
We are pleased to offer three training options:
• National Water Hygiene (NWH) (eLearning) - (£145 + VAT per delegate)
• National Water Hygiene (NWH) Classroom (face-to-face) – (£140 + VAT per delegate)
• National Water Hygiene (NWH) Virtual / Zoom (online) - £140 + VAT per delegate
The eLearning course is approximately two to three hours long and is accessible immediately upon booking via a link sent with our joining instructions. The training is followed by an online assessment where delegates have 28 days to complete. Upon successful completion a cover note is sent, to enable delegates to work on the clean water network whilst awaiting their EUSR cards.
We are slowly introducing our classroom courses again, where training is delivered as a 1-day course, face-to-face by one of our trainers. We also offer Virtual courses, via Zoom (online) if preferred a more trainer-led online course, without the need to travel.
In addition, if you have a group of delegates, we can quote on delivering a Closed Course, in person, specifically for your team, either at our premises or your site.
Please get in touch with our Support Team if you have any additional questions or wish to book.
