What is EUSR training?

Essentially, EUSR training refers to programmes and courses designed for the energy and utility sectors by Energy & Utility Skills (EUS), which develops workers’ abilities across the gas, power, waste management and water industries. On successful completion, individuals sign up to the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR). Future employers will then verify their qualifications via this secure online database.

The idea is to help energy and utility workers meet sector-recognised standards in terms of skills, safety and compliance. Courses encompass a wide range of subjects, from safety practices to technical skills and industry-specific knowledge.

Meanwhile, EUSR Passport schemes are entry-level training programmes relevant to energy and utilities, developed with employers within these sectors.

• Technology becomes less important: Obviously, for online training to work, you need a stable internet connection which doesn’t disrupt the course by failing halfway through. Although this shouldn’t happen very often, it’s not something you have to worry about at all when you attend in person.
