Course Overview
The NRSWA Operatives Reassessment training course aims to refresh operatives with the skills and knowledge to perform their respective duties as per the standards prescribed by the Awarding Bodies and in-line with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), to safeguard themselves and others.
As of the 1st January 1993, new legislation in the form of the New Roads and Street Works Act (1991), made it mandatory that only appropriately qualified employees could work on a public street or road.
Please note that you can only do a reassessment of units that you currently have in date or that have expired within the last 5 years.
Course Content
The Course consists of a short refresher training which is given before each unit, then the operative needs to complete the touchscreen test for each unit. A pass mark of 80% per unit is needed.

LA (old Unit1) - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus. (Supervisors and Operatives)

O1 (old Unit 2) - Signing, lighting, and guarding.

02 (old Unit 3) - Excavation in the highway.

03 (old Unit 4) - Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.

04 (old Unit 5) - Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials.

05 (old Unit 6) - Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials.

06 (old Unit 7) - Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials.

07 (old Unit 8) - Reinstatement of concrete slabs.

08 (old Unit 9 - Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways
Assessment
The Operatives assessment consists of theory-based questions via a touch screen tablet. 80% is needed to pass each unit.
Certificates
Once the delegate has successfully completed the course and assessments, the results will be submitted to the awarding body and a certificate, and a Street Works card will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years from the date of training. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the assessment before the expiry date on your card.
