The EUSR Impressed Voltage Awareness course we offer open courses at our training venues in Stoneleigh Park, CV8 2LG and Trafford Park, M17 1LB. We can also arrange courses just for your team, either at our centres or at a venue to suit you.
This is a ½ day course and is for a maximum of 10 delegates.
Course Overview
To raise the awareness and understanding of ALL THOSE ENGAGED IN THE DELIVERY OF A PROJECT – with regards to Impressed Voltages. Where and how they can occur, and what the dangers are. Actively work to negate ALL incidents relating to Impressed Voltages.
To equip Operatives working on or near equipment where Impressed Voltages may present a danger - with the knowledge to be able to avoid an accident or incident.
Talk through the correct protocol, documents and permits needed to Safely Work on National Grid systems.
Course Content:
- This training will provide the information required for an individual to be able to recognise circumstances or situations where an Impressed voltage may be apparent on any Project.
- It will equip all those accessing the site with the knowledge to be able to avoid the dangers presented by Impressed voltages.
- It will enable individuals to recognise potentially dangerous situations and report concerns to the appropriate responsible person.
- It will raise awareness of working in close proximity to High Voltage Cables, Overhead Power Lines, Substation and Power Generation equipment.
- It will raise awareness of National Grid Working Practices and Supplier Requirement 234 (was TP234)
Assessment
A variety of activities, oral, multiple choice and written questions.
Certificates
Once the delegate has successfully completed the course and assessment, the results will be submitted to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 3 years from the date of training. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the assessment before the expiry date on your card.
Pre-Requisites:
National Grid Person or National Grid Competent Person Substations or Overhead Lines.
